Volcanoes | Science Video for Kids in Preschool or Kindergarten

Volcanoes | Science Video for Preschoolers by Toy Videos

Parents, I tried to keep this science video short for preschoolers. I feel that children learn best from their parents so I would like for this learning experience to be interactive. I’d like you to watch this educational video along with your preschooler, and after watching you could give them an orange for a snack.

Explain to your child how like the earth, the orange is round. Like the earth, the orange has an outer layer. The earth’s outer layer is called the crust. Beneath the crust is the mantle. You could also tell them about the core, but preschoolers have short attention spans so for the purposes of explaining volcanos, we only need to mention the crust and the mantle. Like the earth, the orange has pieces. The earth’s pieces are called plates, and they are constantly moving. When two plates push together in an upwards motion, a mountain is formed. Some mountains are volcanos.

After your child enjoys eating his or her orange, print a drawing of a volcano for them to color. You can easily find one in google images by typing “volcano kids printable”. Then right click on the drawing, go to open image in new window. Then right click and go to print.

Also, use this as an educational opportunity to teach new vocabulary words for reading and spelling. Words such as earth, plates, lava, volcano, mantle, crust, and ash.

I hope that this video will assist you in teaching your child about science. If you find this video helpful, please like and subscribe. I find that there are not a lot of science videos for preschoolers so I wanted to make one of my own.

Please comment if you have ideas for future videos. Thank you for watching!  Please subscribe to my YouTube channel for more videos, Toy Videos.
